How to install Google Play on Amazon Fire 5th Gen (No PC)
Updated: Nov 17, 2019
In this guide you will learn how to install Google Play Store & services on your Amazon Fire 5th generation tablet without needing a computer. By doing this, you can turn your device into a true Android device. And the best part? Amazon Appstore still works natively - so you can have both sources working side-by-side!
How to do it:
1. Head to device settings > "Security and Privacy", and turn on the "Apps from unknown sources" toggle.
2. Now we need to download 4 .APK files which we will sideload onto the device. Download each of the files from this link. Note: You may see "Can't open file" if opening from Silk Browser. To resolve this, open the "Docs" application, go to "Local Storage" tab, then find the "Download" folder. You will be able to open the files from there. Install the 4 .APK files in the correct order from 1 - 4. After completing this, open Google Play Store.
3. Complete the initial Google Play setup. This is mainly just signing into your Google account. After completion, you'll be presented with the Google Play Store's homepage, where you can browse and install apps. You may want to install some basic Google apps, such as Google Search, Google Chrome, Gmail, etc.
That's all you need to do - Google Play is now setup and ready to go! Feel free to install any app you want - your device is now a true Android one. This is useful as many apps are not available on the Amazon Appstore.
